Data, AI and Technology Roundtable
Date: Tuesday, 13th January 2026
Venue: Reaseheath College, Nantwich, Cheshire

The National Rural Crime Network (NRCN), in partnership with the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office for Cheshire, will be hosting a Data, AI and Technology Roundtable to advance the campaign for greater use of data and innovation in the fight against rural crime. This initiative builds on the NRCN’s 10 Point Action Plan, focusing on practical solutions that can be shared across policing, government, and rural communities.
Why it Matters?
The event will be used to gather evidence, ideas, and perspectives from practitioners and specialists. Insights will feed directly into research on the role of technology in tackling rural crime, culminating in a written action plan to be shared with the Home Office and Defra.
The roundtable will bring together expert presenters to lead discussions on critical topics, including:
How to improve data collection and analysis for understanding rural crime trends.
How Police and Crime Commissioners are successfully supporting technology-led approaches.
What artificial intelligence makes possible now and how it should be harnessed for the future.
What barriers exist to adopting new technologies and how they can be overcome.
