Driving innovation for safer rural communities.
The NRCN Technology Project Delivery Group (PDG) champions the use of innovation, data, and digital tools to enhance rural policing and connect
partners through smarter systems.
About The Group
Technology has the power to transform how rural crime is prevented, reported, and understood. The Technology PDG brings together police, government, and tech partners to break down barriers and build modern solutions for modern challenges.
Objectives
Develop new rural crime data and reporting models
Advocate for greater technology adoption in rural policing.
Remove barriers to data sharing across government and law enforcement.
Current Priorities
Our PDGs are our operational core strategies for 2025–2028, ensuring that our work is
focused, collaborative, and aligned with our strategic goals.
Unified Data Project
A national effort to bring scattered rural crime information into one consistent, reliable picture. The project develops shared reporting models and clearer data standards so police, partners, and policymakers can spot trends early and direct resources where they matter most.
Tech Advocacy Forum
A collaborative space where policing leaders and technology innovators explore practical digital solutions for rural challenges. The forum surfaces frontline needs, showcases best practice, and helps forces adopt tools that improve prevention, response, and community confidence.
Digital Collaboration Pilot
A real-world testbed for secure information sharing across rural police forces and partner agencies. The pilot trials lightweight digital tools to improve joint working on hotspots, repeat offences, and emerging threats, building a model that can be safely scaled nationwide.
Get Involved
If you’re a technology provider, academic, or policymaker working on digital transformation, the Technology PDG wants to collaborate.
