The 2025 NRCN Annual Conference brings national partners together to tackle the future of rural security, focusing on funding, policy and the real‑world actions needed to protect rural communities.

On 3 March, the NRCN supported a Parliamentary drop‑in hosted by NatureWatch Foundation, calling on MPs to confront the growing threat posed by easily accessible catapults used in attacks on wildlife and individuals. https://naturewatch.org/target-crime-not-wildlife-take-action-now/

The 2026 NRCN Annual Conference, sponsored by Openreach, brought together stakeholders, policymakers, law enforcement leaders, and rural community representatives to shape the future of rural security. Discussions focused on organised crime, rural domestic abuse, wildlife and heritage crime, and the economic impact of offences like machinery theft and fly-tipping.

This workshop will be the first steps to closer collaboration between European rural crime campaigners and policing to tackle the issue of serious organised rural crime across international borders.
