About Us
Why Are We Here?
National Rural Crime Network (NRCN) was established in 2021 as non-political party focused on making our rural communities safer place to live and work. Members include Police and Crime Commissioners from across the political spectrum, charities, commercial and non-for-profit organisations.
The NRCN mission is to raise the profile of rural crime and its impact on rural communities. The aim to see greater recognition and understanding of the problems and impact of crime in rural areas, so more can be done to keep people safer and make them feel safer.
We are not just focused on rural crime prevention — our work extends into rural education, vulnerability awareness, and the advancement of security technology. These pillars help strengthen community resilience from the ground up.
To drive engagement and share practical insight, we regularly produce podcasts, webinars, and guest articles featuring leading voices from across the agricultural, security, and technology sectors. Through these platforms, we explore how innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing can empower rural communities to thrive safely and sustainably.

Since 2021 our focus has been on building safer, more confident rural communities in the UK by tackling the causes and consequences of rural crime. Our aim at NRCN is to support and help everyone who lives and works in our rural communities to feel secure, valued, and connected — wherever they are.
